S.W.K.A. Championship Show 2017 Critique

PD (4,1)

1 Peach's Kilbourne Shrike, a shapely well grown 7 months old very promising youngster who has good bone and body development. Attractive typy head set  well on to a good length, clean neck flowing onto a pleasing top-line and well grown body. True in front, with adequate lay-back and having enough depth and spring of rib for age. He has an excellent foundation structure and conformation to grow on into an impressive adult. Best Puppy in Breed and Hound Puppy Group 3.

2 Taylor's Ormanstar Gambling Man, an exciting 6 month old very raw youngster who really caught my eye. Particularly liked his attractive typy head and expression. Overall of super shape, which I preferred to 3rd, being well boned and well enough bodied. Pleasing construction all through with nothing obvious to fault except needing to behave himself both standing and moving. One to watch.

3 Lewis' Greyhawks Romanie Mishto At Luckhurst.

JD (4,2)

1 Finnett and Heathcote's  Hyndsight Timespace, a well grown 17 month old male of pleasing profile having good proportions which I preferred to 2nd. Attractive head shape with correct shaped dark eye and having gentle expression. I would prefer just a bit more distinct angle behind which for me, would strengthen and improve his hindquarters but he is still developing and overall he has satisfying conformation and stands well naturally. Well constructed in body having a gentle rise in top line; moderate in spring of rib and depth that should again improve with maturity. Moved with a free easy action, the better mover of this class.

2 Anderson and White's Ormanstar Keepasecret, a 16 month old coated well grown male having good bone and enough body substance. A little unsettled which affected his standing and moving profile. Typy but not clean in lines of head; head set on good length neck, true front and pleasing length of body, moderate hindquarters. Needs to have more width and settle on the move.

YD (2)

1 Baumann's Packway Loxley Norton,  upstanding rising 2 year old of powerful build and shape. Pleasing head, eye, ears and expression. Could have more lay back in front and pasterns. Well made in body being well ribbed back and of pleasing overall balance and proportions which edged his placing over 2nd; stands well on nicely angled stable hindquarters. Free moving with particularly satisfying side gait.

2 Peach's Kilbourne Lloyd, a shapely 15 month old of pleasing overall make and shape. Not as mature in look as 1st. He is well grown and has pleasing bone and enough body cover. Typy in head and true in front, good length body and angled hindquarters but needing to strengthen. Free moving but needing to be more precise in action.

PGD (4,1)

1 Pursglove's Stranwith Roag,  a 3 year old male who is of good size and height to length proportions. Masculine in head which is breed typical in make, shape, planes and proportions. True front but more upright than I prefer and needing more fore-chest and better laid shoulders. Good body length and moderately let down hindquarters needing to strengthen. Pleasing coat and texture. Moved with a free and easy action and the better of this class.

2 Lewis' Luckhurst Paisley, a hardy well shaped 2 year old who is of good size but lacks balance and flowing lines, more upright in front and needing more strength and angulations behind to show of his best. Firm and pleasing in body cover which I preferred to 3 . Better on the move than 3rd.

3 Thomas' Greyflax Blueberry Hill.

 LD (1)

1 Pink's Greyhawks Romanie Drom, a well built mature 4 and a half year old who has good balance and proportions. Masculine and breed typical in head well made true front, powerful in body with good ribbing. Graceful top-line and good width strong angled hindquarters. Free moving with a breed typical gait.

OD (4)

1 Finnett and Heathcote's Ch Hyndsight Desperado, a mature well constructed  3 year old who presents a well constructed picture displaying his ideal balance and proportions. He is easy on the eye having a shapely outline, top line with a gentle rise over the loin, firm in body and strong in loin with a correct  fall-away. Firm well defined muscle. Attractive typy head of clean lines and in proportion to the rest of him. Moved well with a free sound action and edged it on movement in the challenge for Dog CC and BOB.

2 Peach's Ch Rubeus Hagrid To Kilbourne, a rangy quality 2 year old of attractive overall shape. Not looking as finished and mature as 1st. Very satisfying in side profile both standing and on the move. Stands well over the ground showing off his balanced well proportioned flowing lines. Pleasing head, well made front, body and hindquarters. Good texture in close lying coat. Moved well and free but not as good in rear action as 1st. Dog Reserve CC

3 Constantine's Kaleginy The Forester.

Vet D (1)

1 Baumann's Ch Regalflight Tarloch, an upstanding 7 and a half year old well covered in body and coat. Pleasing size and shape; stands well over the ground and has the appearance of being balanced and all in proportions. Attractive well shaped typy head set well on to good length neck. Pleasing in front and forequarters, true in front and having the best pasterns here today. Substance in body with pleasing spring and length of ribbing but needing to firm up. True, light breed typical in movement covering the ground well. Best Veteran in Breed.

PB (2)

1 Peach's Ormanstar Queen Of Hearts ,  a rising 7 months old shapely youngster who has elegance and has all the basics and promise to develop into a quality adult. Well boned and is well bodied so necessary in a puppy. Attractive head and expression, good length neck, true and well constructed in front and forequarters. Pleasing side profile which, at this stage of growth is more together than 2nd. A very promising puppy. She moved well slightly more settled and with more width than 2nd.

2 Taylor's Ormanstar Fast Cat Betty, litter sister to 1st and similar comments apply but she is at a more rangy stage in development. Needs to grow on in hindquarters and so stand out more over the ground. Free moving but tended to be close front and rear.

JB (1)

1 Wilce Quinton & Quinton 'S Kilbourne Marie Claire At Kirjojax, a feminine fine boned 14 month old who is still growing and developing. She has a pleasing side profile both standing and on the move. Typy, obviously feminine in head set on a good length neck, true front, pleasing length in body and good length angled hindquarters still needing to mature and strengthen. Moved well enough.

PGB (4)

1 Taylor's Minerva Mcgonagall Of Ormanstar, a very shapely and attractive 2 year old who I is well bodied and firm of muscle appearance with the balance, proportions, outline and profile shape I like. Pleasing rise over the loin giving a satisfying top line. Feminine and breed typical in head having a gentle expression; reachy,  well shaped neck following on to a well shaped, well made body. Balanced in angulations front and rear presenting a profile which is pleasing to the eye. Moved well enough although was the best mover of this class.

2 Adam's Stranwith Nia For Zandahar, a 2½ year old who is of similar style to 1st but lacking the maturity of body and firmness of muscle. Excellent coat and texture. Pleasing overall make and shape with good front, body, top line and hindquarters all together giving a sound basis for her to body-up and to mature. Moved well  and free but was close in rear action.

3 Aston's Cotherstone Steel Magnolia At Balgaled

LB (2,1)

1 Peach's Blixten Star To Kilbourne (Imp Fin), a mature shapely looking 2 year old  of racy appearance; she is balanced in angulations front/rear and is of satisfying proportions in overall body presenting a pleasing side profile. Attractive, typical head with dark eyes having a feminine, kind expression. True front, well made in forequarters with enough layback of shoulder; she is well boned and stands on good legs and  feet. Firm bodied with a pleasing top line and broad loin; hindquarters are well bent, of good width and stable in stance. Moved with a free positive gait CC

OB (6)

1 Taylor's Kilbourne Pandora To Talorpeche, a well shaped mature 5 year old who has an attractive head and outline; she has a dense harsh breed typical coat. Pleasing elegant lines and overall profile shape which is balanced and all in proportion possessing a graceful top line. True front and well constructed forequarters with ideal width all through; she is well covered although firm in body substance. Powerful in appearance and having nicely angled hindquarters. Free striding action which covers the ground well. Reserve Bitch CC.

2 Finnett and Heathcote's Ch Hyndsight Mandolin Wind, a very well made young bitch who is not yet 2 years of age but has quality both in breed characteristics and conformation. Pleasing body cover and well defined firm muscle. Lovely head shape and expression, good length, strong neck and shapely well made body and stable moderate hindquarters. Although well constructed and being breed typical she has great scope for ongoing development and maturity. Moved with a positive free and easy gait.

3 Peach's Kilbourne Zoe.
